RIPON, Wis (WRPN)- Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake is thrilled to announce a performance by the premier jazz ensemble ARTEMIS on Saturday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m. This multinational, multigenerational powerhouse brings together five of the most acclaimed virtuosos in modern jazz for an evening of sophisticated, “rhythm-forward” performance.
Founded in 2017 by pianist and composer Renee Rosnes, ARTEMIS has rapidly ascended to the pinnacle of the jazz world. The current lineup features a “killer line-up” of bandleaders and composers, including:
- Renee Rosnes (Piano)
- Ingrid Jensen (Trumpet)
- Nicole Glover (Tenor Saxophone)
- Noriko Ueda (Bass)
- Allison Miller (Drums)
The ensemble visits Green Lake on the heels of significant critical acclaim. Their third Blue Note Records release, Arboresque, was named one of The Guardian’s Top Ten Jazz Albums of 2025, with critics praising the group’s “clichĂ©-free individuality and congenial collective spirit.”
Beyond their recordings, ARTEMIS has become a dominant force in the industry, voted Jazz Group of the Year for three consecutive years (2023–2025) in the DownBeat Readers Poll and twice named Mid-Size Ensemble of the Year by the Jazz Journalists Association. Fans may also recognize the group from their viral May 2025 appearance on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series, which showcased their sleek, cosmopolitan sound to a global audience.
This season is sponsored by Lake St. Consulting, our show sponsors are Emmer Real Estate, and the Alfred T. Peck Jr. Fund, of the Oshkosh Area Community Fund.
Tickets are $37 and can be purchased online at www.thrasheroperahouse.com, by phone at 920.294.4279, or at the Thrasher Opera House office.
