
WAUTOMA, Wis (WAUH)- Omro Police responded to Miller Park Thursday evening for a man who had called 911 to report he had fallen through the ice. He told Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office dispatch he had been in the water for about 5 minutes and was hanging onto the dock but could not get out.
Omro Police, Omro Rushford Volunteer Fire Department and First Responders, Winneconne Poygan Fire District, Oshkosh Fire Department, Lifestar EMS, and Southern Winnebago EMS were dispatched to the area.
An Omro Police Officer was first on the scene and immediately located the 65-year-old Omro man who was half submerged between the ice and the dock. The officer grabbed a hold of the man and helped him out of the water. EMS treated the man at the scene for exposure to the cold and released him.
