
RIPON, Wisc (WRPN)- Three people were arrested including a wanted felon at the conclusion of a 17 mile chase in Fond du Lac and Dodge counties Sunday.
It started in Fond du Lac County when a Sheriff’s deputy tried to pull over a speeding vehicle on Interstate 41 near Fond du Lac that was driving recklessly.
It concluded in Dodge County when the suspect’s vehicle exited the roadway on the shoulder and became entangled in the median cable barrier on I-41 near State Highway 28. All three occupants were taken into custody.
A search of the vehicle turned up a firearm, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and marijuana. The 39-year-old Watertown man driving the vehicle was wanted on a number of active arrest warrants on eight open cases.
Crimes in those cases included multiple drug possession charges, felon in possession of a firearm, burglary, battery, felony bail jumping and more. New charges are being referred against him stemming from the pursuit.
The two passengers a 23-year-old Milwaukee man and 50-year-old Watertown woman are also facing drug charges from the chase.
