City of Oshkosh looks for local vendors to work with
Vendors encouraged to register with DemandStar for notification of solicitations, giving the city more local vendors to choose from.
Listen:
OSHKOSH, WI—(WISS)— The City of Oshkosh is asking area businesses to consider registering with Euna OpenBids, also known as DemandStar. It is an online marketplace that provides instant access and updates of city solicitations for bids, quotes, requests for proposals, and more.
“ We are looking for vendors,” said Holly Magrady, Senior Buyer for the City of Oshkosh. “You know, when we put our bids out, we want to receive bids. It’s a great satisfaction when we do get like eight bids or whatever the case may be. So we know we are reaching people.”
Magrady said DemandStar has made her job easier.
“ I believe it makes it easier for everybody. And it’s a great opportunity for both the city and the vendors,” Magrady said. “When I started many years ago, we were mailing out bids. You know, you’d have to get a hold of the vendor. ‘Where should I mail it to?’ And then hope that they would get it on time. And get it to us on time because we have deadlines for, um, all the quotes and bids and RFPs. And we were at a WAPP (Wisconsin Association for Public Procurement) conference, and Demand Star showed up. I was like, ‘This is perfect for us!’”
DemandStar provides businesses with several benefits:
- Instant access to bids, quotes, and RFP’s for the City of Oshkosh;
- Automatic procurement notifications from the City of Oshkosh (in addition to many other participating municipalities)- to your inbox;
- The ability to quickly view any contractual terms or scope of work;
- All the forms and documents a vendor needs, in one place!
Businesses and vendors can register for a free account at www.demandstar.com/registration. Choose “City of Oshkosh” as your agency to receive notifications. A subscription to receive messages from one agency is free.
Magrady said Businesses can sign up for additional agencies, municipalities, counties, or states for an extra fee.
“It’s free for just one. If you wanted multiples, then you would have to pay. And demand star is like a lot of sites are, um, for um, any type of vendor or contract or whatever. If you wanna receive bids that they house, there is a fee,” Magrady said.
For questions on registering for DemandStar, or for more information on doing business with the City of Oshkosh, please contact the Purchasing office at (920) 236-5100.
